Before 350-th city anniversary celebrations Roman Chernov, mayor of Penza, appeals to recover original appearance of the First Settler Monument, one of the most important symbols of Penza.
Particularly it concerns the plinth which is the base of whole structure. This sculpture is the site of cultural heritage. Its pedestal represents an earthwork bordered with granite baseboards. Over a long period of time some parts of granite rocks were lost due to different reasons and another parts dipped into the ground under its own weight. Penza City Administration aims to enframe the base with rocks and to landscape the territory around monument.
