Tourists Are Invited To Look At The Excavations In Novgorod

In June, archaeologists discovered a summer field season in Veliky Novgorod. It is assumed that the work of this year will be conducted at Trinity excavation, which is the base for the Novgorod archaeological expedition, as well as at three excavations on the Marketplace and the Sofia sides in the historic center of the city. 


In this case, there are excursions on the Troitsky excavation. Tourists will be able to see the cultural layer of the X-XV centuries, which lies at depth. At the excavation it’s possible to see the remains of ancient buildings, a bridge of 1305, houses and the churches. For years of work of the excavation of the Trinity more than 20 urban estates of X-XV centuries, more than 400 birch-bark manuscripts and ancient Slavic wax book - Novgorod Psalter of the beginning of XI century were found.


Excursions are held until August 31, since Tuesday to Saturday at 18 pm, Sunday - 17:00. Price - 150 rubles for adults, 120 rubles for children, pensioner and students.
