Velonoch (Bicycle Night) will take place on the night from 20th to 21st July in Moscow, but this time it will differ from previous ones.
Historians and architects are going to ride bicycles along with cyclists and tell about the history of the Russian capital.
The action will take place in the Southern and South Western districts of Moscow.
The chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, the leading architectural photographer Yury Palmin, the artist Yury Albert and the historians Andrey Topychkanov and Sergey Nikitin will share their profound knowledge about Moscow history with the cyclists. They will tell about origins of Russian industry, museology and archeology, as well as subcultures of rock and jazz music in Moscow.
Cycling will be crowned with tea drinking at sunrise in the Kolomenskoe museum reserve. Additional attraction is a concert with recitations of Vladimir Mayakovsky’s poems to accompany the event.
