Berezov Antiquities Exhibited in Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve

Today the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve in Moscow opens the Berezov Antiquities exhibition with church art items from Berezov, the most northern settlement of the Tobolsk Province.

The collection is for the first time displayed outside Siberia.

Founded in 1593 by Cossacks going to master Siberia, Berezov with its severe climate and 8 month long winter was mostly known as an exile place.

The major part of the exhibition is dedicated to iconography, as well as church vestments and fabrics.

The exhibition will run till October 6, 2013.
