International Music Festival WOMAD to Come to Russia

The World of Music, Art and Dance (WOMAD) Festival will be held in Kislovodsk from September 20 to September 22, 2013.

      WOMAD is the international festival of world music, arts and dance, created in 1982 by Peter Gabriel, the illustrious frontman of the Genesis band.

      Throughout its existence WOMAD has been held in many countries of the world, such as Australia, New Zealand, Spain, etc. The main concept of WOMAD is the idea of uniting people from different countries and continents that understand one common language – the music language.

      WOMAD Russia will bring together the best world and Russian musicians, as well as various creative groups on its stage. By now the participation in the festival has been confirmed by Vopli Vidoplyasova band, Volga band, Inna Zhelannaya, Andrey Starostin, Jivan Gasparyan, Alexey Arkhipovsky, and Mari Boine. Negotiations with Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, and others are carried on.
