New generation of young and perspective Russian and foreign choreographers will demonstrate their talents in Yekaterinburg in August.
The project Dance Platform, which is unique for Russia, will take place in the Opera and Ballet House for the second time already and is ready to surpass the last year’s one in its scope. Yekateriburg - the capital city of Ural – will be represented by the leading soloist of the Opera House ballet company Andrey Sorokin.
Young choreographers have been selected on a competitive basis. Skills and gifts of the potential participants have been estimated by an authoritative jury headed by Ingrid Lawrence, the director of the Norwegian National Ballet.
It should be noted that the interest in the project is growing: this year the organizing committee of the Dance Platform received 60 applications from young choreographers from Russia, Belarus, France, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Bulgaria and Switzerland. Last year the applications were only 40 in number.
As a result eight participants have been selected to take part in the workshops.
