Monument to Cossacks Horses to Appear in Novocherkassk

A monument to horses of Cossacks will be set up in Novocherkassk city of the Rostov Region in autumn.

It is going to be a sculptural composition of four horses and a foal. Exact terms of its installation as well as its official name have not been defined yet. The monument setting up has been initiated by Novocherkassk Cossacks.

The sculptural composition under the working title Herd has been created by the Volgograd master Pavel Cherkis.

The composition will be set up in the Yubileiny Square in front of the Novocherkassk Hotel. There is a horse division located on the right side of the square, and a riding hall on the left side. Therefore the monument will very well fit into the historical look of the city.
