Raised zebra-crossings will be equipped with yellow traffic lights.

Moscow will have zebra crossings made of granite and raised up by 10 cm. The granite is processed so the pass is not slippery. At some places the crosswalks will be equipped with yellow LED traffic lights. They will be set up either in the middle of crosswalk on separation strip, or at the beginning and at the end of zebra. 

Possibly, the system will be set up so that traffic lights can light up only when pedestrians approach the crosswalk. The lights will help drivers to notice the zebra when it is dark. Moscow municipality has assigned 12 locations which should be equipped with such crosswalks at first. The raised zebra projects will be introduced by next autumn and only then the installation works will start.
