Archeologists Find Unique 7th Century Burial Ground in the Ulyanovsk Region

The region’s first burial ground dated back to the 7th century has been found in the Ulyanovsk Region.

According to scientists, this find is of great value: it will make it possible to clear off “blank pages” in the history of this land. Earlier they did not have any data about those who inhabited this territory in that epoch.

The burial ground has been found by the Ulyanovsk regional specialists, who proved to be conscientious and handed the finds to the Ulyanovsk Museum of Local Lore. The scientists have rendered a verdict: it is the first cremation ceremony burial ground located in the territory of the Ulyanovsk Region. Its area is about five thousand square meters large, which is a lot for such places.
