Central Navy Museum to Be reopened in St. Petersburg

August 1 will see the reopening of the Central Navy Museum in St. Petersburg.

      Last year it was moved from the Exchange Building on the Vasilyevsky Island to Kryukovy Barracks in Truda Square. After reconstruction of the barracks the museum now has six showrooms, an atrium and excursion zones.

      The area of the atrium and the showrooms opened for visitors at present makes more than 3 thousand square meters, which is much more than the overall area of the old museum. Altogether the exhibition areas in the Barracks buildings will be increased up to 8 thousand square meters. The museum is going to have 19 exhibition halls, restoration workshops, a studio of marine painters, a scientific and technical library, a photo laboratory, a cafe and a conference hall.
