Plant Symbol To Be Added To Emblem
29.07.2013 23:56

People from all regions were invited to choose a symbol plant.

As a part of “Russia Avenue” national contest program all 83 regions of the country were offered to choose the plant symbol. When it is chosen, the plant will be approved by legislative authorities as a part of regions emblem.

The age of tradition of choosing country’s plant symbols exceeds 100 years. It is widely spread in Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Norway, USA and Sweden. Regional trees and flowers symbolize not only natural richness and diversity, but also attention, that authorities and communities pay to the environmental issues, as well as their sincere love towards home land.

At the end of the project, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation is planning to plant out on one of the most protected natural parks an avenue of 83 plans, symbolizing Russian regions.
