Football World Cup constructions in Samara can harm people and nature.

Samara authorities are planning to build in Samara sport objects, concert halls, indoor ice rinks, university campus and innovation center. FIFA recommended allocating 27 hectares of land area for the construction sites. But, Samara officials have provided a much larger 930 hectares area. Moreover, they gave for the construction the only green area within the city.

Greenpeace Russia and local community are outraged with the fact that the Samara Region administration was going to destroy Samara’s lungs. They took an active part in public hearings and stated their protest against administration’s decision. Greenpeace will follow thoroughly the situation and will try to apply all means to prevent implementation of administration’s projects.
