On August 8 Polenov’s House will open Sergey Shutov’s exhibition on selectivity of memory and coexistence of documents in art practice.
The unusual exhibition is titled Containers, Packets, Cisterns and Memories. It is hardly possible to consider Sergey Shutov a collector in the exact meaning of this word; he collects reality as such: his own and others’ works of art, for example, Timur Novikov’s early works, music disks and design items of the 1960s-80s, like desktop sculptures, lamps or ashtrays with attributes of great feats of the USSR.
It is for the first time the artist is going to display his collection for general public.
The exhibition will run till September 8.
