Sergei Ursuliak will be the film director of the 12-series And Quiet Flows the Don.

The filming will be launched at the beginning of 2014. It is known that the film crew already visited the Rostov Region to carry out casting of actors for bit parts and crowd scenes.

The premiere of the new film And Quiet Flows the Don is scheduled for 2015 and will be timed to the 110th anniversary since the birth of the renowned writer Michail Sholokhov, on whose book the series is based.

It is remarkable Ministry of Culture has selected three more films to subsidize along with And Quiet Flows the Don. The lucky ones are Mikhail Hleborodov with the movie In August of 1944 and Vladimir Vysotsky’ son Nikita Vysotsky with the series Decembrists. In addition to that, Vladimir Khotinenko will screen the series Demons after Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Altogether seven film directors applied for the subsidy.
