Boris Eifman’s Ballet to Be Screened

Boris Eifman’s ballet On the Other Side of Sin based on Dostoevsky’s novel The Karamazov Brothers will become a film. 


      
Shootings of the film version were launched on stage of the Lensovet Culture Centre in Petersburg.

      The film director is the choreographer himself, who decided to make his recent creation available to general public. The movie is planned to be released on DVDs. 

      On the Other Side of Sin is a new edition of The Karamazovs ballet staged in 1995. In the new version Eifman has changed choreography, scenery and costumes, as well as the number of characters, Radio Kultura reports.

      Boris Eifman is the head of his own Ballet Theater. He is the winner of the awards Gold Mask, Gold Spotlight, and Triumph. This autumn Boris Eifman Dance Academy for children above 7 is planned to be opened in Petersburg.
