The RF Culture Ministry is going to fine director Garri Bardin for not having completed the animated film Three Melodies in time.
Referring to the law it refuses to make an exception even for the classic of the Russian animation.
Garri Bardin will have to pay to the Ministry of Culture a penalty for delaying the work completion. The film director got the state support amounting to 66 percent of the film budget and had to hand over the animation work in June, 2013, however failed to meet the deadline because of his disease. According to Garri Bardin, the Ministry of Culture allocated 11 million rubles for the film project, and he had to fundraise 6 million rubles independently.
Garri Bardin has been working on Three Melodies for two years. Within this period he has nearly completed work on the two first parts; for creation of the third part the director organized fund raising via the crowdfunding website planeta.ru.
