Institute of Finland in St. Petersburg has opened an exhibition of works by the Finnish caricaturist Kari Suomalainen. After World War II he worked for 40 years in the most well-known newspaper of Finland. In the course of these years hundreds of drawings were created by him.
“In his works we can find the following main subjects: politics, namely the Cold War, the foreign policy relations of Finland, in particular, with the Soviet Union; the family, i.e. position of the woman in society and the child in a family and, naturally, modernization of Finland” - the exhibition curator Yaroslava Novikova points out.

The exhibition will be open till September 6, admission free. The exposition is located on the 2nd floor of the House of Finland at the address 8, Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street.
