The Kremlin is putting its bet on a new road around Moscow, an ambitious project worth billions of US dollars which was announced at the St Petersburg Economic Forum earlier in June.
The construction is part of the government's drive to revamp the country's ageing infrastructure, ease road congestion inside and around Moscow and kickstart the economy by creating lots of jobs for at least five years.
According to the authorities, the 339 km road will be put into operation after 2018 and will boost the passenger flow to 900 million.
