All-Russian Spasskaya Fair and The Bell-Ringing Festival were held in Yelabuga. For the first time it gathered together 867 decorative and applied arts craftsmen and traditional artisans representing 136 cities and settlements of Russia, Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Greek island of Rhodes.
42 ringers came to Yelabuga from 19 cities of the country, but in total Bell-Ringing Festival gathered 109 participants: ringers, folk bands, players of ancient Russian musical instruments, and performers of original songs. Many of them could have been seen in trade rows on Kazanskaya, Gassar, Naberejnaya streets chanting old songs and creating a special atmosphere of an Orthodox merchant town of 19th century. In total, about 1,000 members of creative teams participated in the Spasskaya Fair and Festival, which is considerably exceeding even last, anniversary year’s figures.
