Bulat Okudzhava House Museum to Appear in Nizhni Tagil

The government of the Sverdlovsk Region has supported the idea of founding Bulat Okudzhava Centre in Nizhni Tagil.

      The museum is planned to be create in 2014 in the house, where the legendary poet spent his childhood, the region government reports.

      The family of Bulat Okudzhava lived in the Ural city for three years in the mid-thirties. The poet’s father Shalva Okudzhava shot on false charge in 1937 had been sent to Nizhni Tagil as a Party organizer for construction of a car-building plant.

      The concept of the new culture object is still being developed. It will probably be a museum library or a literature and music centre with an exposition dedicated to the legendary poet and bard. According to the Minister of Culture, the idea has been supported by the poet’s widow Olga Artsimovich-Okudzhava.
