The Central Bank has cooled the ambitions of the Economic Development Ministry by issuing a conservative GDP forecast, says Vedomosti.

According to the Bank of Russia, the national economy will grow by 2 percent only in 2013, not

the 2.4 percent announced earlier by the government.

The situation will improve in 2014, but it will be a slow recovery, says the bank's report.
