Unique Gondola Lift: 30 People In One Cabin

One of the world’s longest aerial lifts was tested in Sochi.


In the area of alpine tourism center of OAO "Gazprom" in Sochi there will be one of the longest aerial lifts in the world. Its length will exceed 5 km. Cable cars will transport tourists from Alpika Service ski resort to the foot of mountain Psekhako which include the Olympic ski and biathlon complex. On the route, contractors provided 5 main and one station supports from 39 to 78.5 meters high. The capacity of cable lift allows carrying up to three thousand people per hour. According to experts, it is about transport system totally modern for the Krasnaya Polyana. It is equipped with high-capacity passenger gondolas – one 3S cable car is designed to carry up to 30 people at a time.
