The Moscow sculptor Alexander Doronin has won the competition. Its model depicts a grandma wearing a head scarf and knitting while sitting on a bench. Next to her there are four grandsons, and a cat curled up by her feet.

The monument will be cast of metal and set up in the Gogol Boulevard in front of the Republican Puppet Theater in Izhevsk.

Competition for the grandmother monument was announced after a successful performance of the amateur band Buranovskiye Babushki at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
