Rybinsk food manufacturers and catering facilities are preparing a surprise to the City Day celebrations – a giant pie.

Pastry will not be just a spectacular element of the holiday but also a fare for all who come to the city to celebrate its 236th anniversary, Rybinsk administration reports. The length and weight of the pie with sweet filling were stated as 75 meters and almost 600 kilograms. In order to serve the pastry on the Ally of Glory – one of the celebration sites – there will be arranged one hundred tables.

Half-meter pies, of which later wonder cake will be build up, are going to get baked in "Ilyinka Bakery." Experts from 15 food service facilities will work on decorations of the huge sweet gift. Dough figurines of fishes and recognizable city buildings will make Rybinsk cake unique. Rybinsk pie was announced as candidate for the "Russian Book of Records" in "the longest yeast dough pie” nomination.
