A sculpture of the popular fairy tale character Buratino is ready to be installed in Samara.

On September 8, the City Day, a bronze sculpture of Buratino will be set up near the Museum of Alexey Tolstoy, who created the book about Buratino, the Russian version of Pinocchio.

As envisioned by the sculptor Stepan Karslyan, the fairy tale character resembles the actor Dmitry Joseph who played the lead in the Soviet movie Adventures of Buratino released in 1975. The bronze Buratino is holding the treasured key high above his head and Alexey Tolstoy's half-opened same-name book is standing at his feet on the ground.
