This summer, residents and guests of St. Petersburg have got a chance to take a walk with hedgehog and meerkats.

Now in Leningrad Zoo it is possible to walk with hedgehog Dobrynia or with meerkats Roza and Adel accompanied by zoo staff, who will not only help to treat the animals, but also will tell a lot of interesting things regarding what do they eat, how they breed, where they live and what prefer. When weather is fine walks are held according to schedule daily from 13.30 to 14.30. On Wednesdays and Thursdays animals have their days off. Holding animals in arms or touching them is not allowed, but it is possible to learn a lot of interesting things and to observe the animal in different environment in immediate vicinity. Usually hedgehog and meerkats stay in designated areas and some time ago, when there were no visitors, they used to stroll with zoo staff.
