Multi-purpose Light Planes

"Rostekh" and the Austrian Diamond agreed on the design and manufacture of planes in Russia for small aviation.


Ural factory of civil Aviation and Austrian company Diamond Aircraft Industries signed an agreement to jointly develop and manufacture Russian multi-purpose light planes - LMS.


It is planned to set up production of small passenger planes for up to 19 passengers. This type of planes is able to satisfy the needs of local airlines serving flights within the 400-1000 km. In the first stage the assembly of aircraft and aircraft engines for it will be fully carried out in Austria. The second stage involves the partial localization of production of aircraft components in Russia. On the third and final stage, all the components of the light aircraft and diesel engines for it will be fully produced at the Ural Works of Civil Aviation. The first Russian light multipurpose aircraft can be put into operation in 2016.
