Bas-reliefs To Be Placed On Stele To the City of Military Glory In Petropavlovsk

Historical events planned to be depicted on the sculptural reliefs over pillars of stele to the "City of Military Glory" were discussed in Petropavlovsk.


      

As of members of committee reviewing proposals of memorial signs designated for installation on the territory of urban area, the bas-reliefs have to reflect the following heroic pages of Petropavlovsk history: the siege of Petropavlovsk port by British and French navies in 1854; Petropavlovsk- Kamchatsky during Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05; Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky during Great Patriotic War of 1941-45; Kuril Landing Operation of 1945. The committee consists of experts from Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Authority of Urban Development and Land Relations Department of Petropavlovsk Administration; City Duma deputies and local historians.
