Currently, works on installation the canopies over stair approaches are in progress at "Novogireevo", "Kaluhzskaya", "Perovo" and "Skhodnenskaya" Moscow metro stations. In the process of construction of a canopy, a metal frame is rigidly attached to the stair approach parapets, which later would be coated with polycarbonate covering.

Decision to install canopies over the stair approaches at metro stations that are not provided with ground lobby was taken in order to protect passengers from precipitations, to reduce moisture and dirt coming from the street to the stair walks. Summing up the results of canopy operation, it will be decided whether it is needed to install them on metro stations, which are not provided with ground entrance halls.
