Bearded Businessman Monument Unveiled in Yekaterinburg

A bronze monument to a bearded businessman has been set up in the Artists’ Avenue near the Ural State Economics University.

The monument is about four meters high. The sculpture depicts a bearded man dressed according to merchants’ fashion of the early 19th century. At the basis of the monument its motto is engraved: Honour. Dignity. Obligation. Charity. It is an excerpt from the Russian Merchants Charter approved in 1812. Further on the memorial is planned to be supplemented with new sculptures associated with Ural business.
