September 7 will see the first rock music festival in memory of Yanka Dyagileva taking place in Novosibirsk.

The renowned singer and songwriter Yury Naumov, the Kalinov Most band and Novosibirsk rock musicians are going to take part in the festival.

Earlier fans of the rock star Yanka Dyagileva, who died at the age of 25 years in 1991 addressed the authorities of her hometown with a request to set up a memorial plaque on House 61 in Yadrintsevskaya Street. They were denied permission because the house was subject to demolition.

Afterwards rockers resorted to the sculptor Denis Mikhaylov with a request to design a memorial plate and organized the Yanka’s Day festival.

Yanka’s creative heritage makes seven song albums and two posthumously published collections of poetry.
