The Svetlanov State Academic Symphonic Orchestra will celebrate the 200th anniversary since the birth of the composer Richard Wagner.
A concert made of his compositions will take place today in Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow.
The orchestra has prepared a concert version of Tristan & Isolde for Wagner's anniversary, the orchestra art director Vladimir Jurowski points out. The cycle Five Songs to Matilda Wesendonck’s Lyrics for a mezzo-soprano and a chamber orchestra will also be performed.
