Monument to War Children Unveiled in Orenburg

A monument to war children has been unveiled in Guskov Park in the city of Orenburg

The first stone on the place of the future monument was solemnly laid in December, 2010. The memorial was initiated by Orenburg dwellers.

The composition consists of two bronze figures on a granite pedestal.

War children suffered severe trials: continuous hunger, hard work and constant expectation of news from their fathers and brothers defending the Homeland.

Those were war children who showed outstanding stamina in the course of reconstruction and building of national economic assets during the post-war period.
