Giuseppe Verdi Dedication. Scenery from the Roman Opera House exhibition will be opened from September 12 in the Alexander Pushkin State Museum.
The exhibition timed to the 200th anniversary since the composer’s birth presents 18 stage costumes, 12 posters and over 90 sketches of costumes and scenery. These are selected sketches of scenery and costumes that were created for Verdi’s masterpieces staged in the Roman Opera House throughout the last century were.
The visitors will see creativity by the artists Luchino Visconti, Franco Zeffirelli, Pier Luigi Pizzi, Danilo Donati, and Nicholas Benois, whose inspiration made the historical context, scene of action and characters of the operas by Giuseppe Verdi visible.
The exhibition will run at the address 12/2, Prechistenka St. till September 29.
