Chelyabinsk Meteorite Will Be Lifted in 28 Days

The cost of the lifting of the Chelyabinsk meteorite became known.


Government procurement website reported that the tender for works on the lifting of the Chelyabinsk meteorite from the bottom of the lake Tchebarkul was summarized. The tender for the lifting of the fragment of "Chelyabinsk" meteorite from the bottom of the lake Tchebarkul was announced on August 9. The initial contract price made up 3 000 000 rubles, then a reduction auction was conducted. Three companies applied for the competition. One of them offered to lift the meteorite for almost 2 million rubles, and the other - for 1.8 million. The winner is the company from Ekaterinburg which agreed to carry out this operation for 1.67 million rubles. The lifting of the object from the bottom of Tchebarkul will take the contractor 28 calendar days.
