Freedom House has called on acting mayor of Moscow to delay the inauguration and conduct a recount of votes due to the slim margin.

The human rights group believes the move will be in the interests of Sergey Sobyanin who earlier pledged that Moscow would see the most competitive and transparent election.

According to the official tally, acting mayor Sergey Sobyanin received 51.37 percent of the vote while the leading opposition candidate, Alexey Navalny, got 27.24 percent of the vote.
