Boomfest Comics Festival Kicks Off in St. Petersburg
Boomfest Comics

The first comics exhibitions of the international Boomfest Festival have been opened in St. Petersburg.

Works by Tom Gauld - a British artist, whose comics have been published in The Guardian newspaper for the last 5 years – are now being displayed in the Master Gallery.

The same Master Gallery is hosting Bordeaux – St. Petersburg - a joint exhibition of the French artist Francois Ayroles and the Russian artist Varvara Pomidor.

In the same hall there is an exhibition of the well-known comic strips by the Russian-Canadian artist Oleg Tishenkov.

An exhibition of the Soviet textbook illustrator and comic book artist Yury Aleksandrov has been opened in the Izmaylovsky Book Illustration Library.

It is a reminder that the exhibition program of the Boomfest alternative comics festival will be held till October 13, and the educational program will run from September 27 to September 29.
