Exhibition in St. Petersburg: Relief in Russia of 18th-early 21st Century
18th Century Relief in Russia

It is practically the first monographic exhibition on the history of relief in Russian art of the 18th-early 21st centuries.

The exposition traces the development of relief types and genres and makes it easier to understand the peculiarities of its plastic language. Visitors will see its earliest samples created in the 18th century: portrait reliefs by Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli and Marie-Anne Collot, historical compositions by Fedot Shubin and Jean-Dominique Rachette.

A part of the exposition is dedicated to numismatics as a special type of relief. It includes commemorative medals of various years.

The exhibition runs in the Marble Palace Museum, St. Petersburg, till November 3.
