The Theatre World of Mart Kitayev exhibition opened in the Theatre and Music Art Museum tells about the creativity of this outstanding scenic designer.

      The name of Mart Frolovich Kitayev is well-known to all theater lovers. The oldest scenic designer (born in 1925) still keeps up his creative activity as the art director of the St. Petersburg A.A.Bryantsev Theatre for Young Spectators.

      The visitors will see stage scenery models and original scenic costumes that have remained in St. Petersburg theaters and give an idea of scenery of this or that stage production. Photos of scenes from the plays designed by Mart Kitayev demonstrate how these or those scenery techniques invented by the artist worked and recreate the atmosphere of stage performance.

      The exhibition will run from September 19 to November 4.
