Excavations on the Territory of the Ancient City Have Ended

Excavations on the territory of Kovrovskoe ancient settlement in Kotelnichsky District of Kirov Oblast have ended. They have lasted for several weeks and covered the area of about 10 to 15 meters.

During the excavation the archeologists found the remains of ancient buildings of the XIV century. These were household buildings, which means that the homes of their owners were not far from this place. Perhaps, they were destroyed or were not included into the territory of excavations.

The territory of the ancient settlement will be partially improved in the autumn, informational signs will be established there. A fragment of the ancient city wall with tower is to be constructed on the site of excavations.
