The Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val will open an exhibition of Georgy Vereisky on October 18.
Georgy Semyonovich Vereisky (1886–1962) is one of the most outstanding masters of the Soviet graphic art. His works are invariably presented in the permanent exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery as classical paragons of the 20th century art.
Georgy Vereysky lived and worked in St. Petersburg (Leningrad). Life of this city became the main subject matter for his creativity. His best works are portraits of Leningrad dwellers, interiors of their homes, and landscapes of Leningrad and its vicinities.
The chamber exhibition will include about 70 original drawings and prints, in particular etchings and lithographs.
The exhibition will be held till February 16, 2014.
