Flood In the Far East Is the Largest In the Last 115 Years

Flood in the Far East spread on the territories of five subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District.

       The total flooded area is more than 8 million square kilometers. The flood of such magnitude is recorded first time for the last 115 years of observations. 37 municipal districts, 235 settlements and over 13 000 houses were flooded. More than 100 000 people suffered. 

      The flood hit the Far East at the end of the summer. To date, the water is gone in most of the settlements, but in the Khabarovsk region about 1.2 thousand houses still remain flooded.
