Paintings Can be Touched at New Exhibition in Samara

Visitors of the exhibition recently opened in Samara can touch displayed pictures with hands.

They are not painted in oil or water colours, but with what lots of people would consider mere garbage: unwanted things have been turned into art objects.

The author of these pictures is Vyacheslav Pimenov - a theatre designer and an actor, who has worked at theater for many years. His stage work has influenced his artistic creativity in a big way.

Someone could see a stage performance plot in the master’s works, someone discerned landscapes of the artist’s hometown of Vladimir.  Here are about 30 canvasses, all of them being exclusive art handiwork.

Vyacheslav Pimenov finds materials for his works at dressmakers’ and among his friends there are fashion designers, who preserve tailors cuttings and give to the artist. Thus there is already a collection of thousands of fabrics brought together from various cities in Russia and abroad.
