Feminist Pencil-2 to Show Up in Moscow
Feminist Pencil

October 23 will see the opening of Feminist Pencil-2 exhibition of women’s social graphic art in the ArtPlay centre.

The exhibition will be held in the framework of the MediaUdar Festival as a parallel project of the 5th Moscow Biennial of Modern Art.

The Feminist Pencil appeared as an annual project last year, when the very word “feminism” on a poster was considered a big risk. Only six artists participated in the first exhibition: this was the only number possible within the available space and budget.

This year things are different: the Feminist Pencil will represent thirty five participants from all over Russia. Feminists from other countries, such as France, Germany, Ukraine, Belarus and Sweden are also in.

Visitors will see a full range of graphic art genres: city stencils, posters, comics, graphic art stories, author's books and stickers.

The exhibition runs from October 23 to November 6.
