From March 25 to October 6, 2013 “Rossia” TV channel and the Russian Geographic Society with the support of a few TV channels and radio stations, web-portals and newspapers organized the Rossia 10 multimedia contest. The project was conceived as a nationwide contest, during the course of which citizens would be able to select 10 of the most interesting landmarks nationwide.
The final results of the competition were announced last week. Under the rules of the competition ranks are not shared among Top 10 landmarks, but each of them is recognizes as equal winner. Besides Akhmad Kadyrov Mosque known as "The Heart of Chechnya" in Grozny and Kolomna Kremlin, which were recognized early winners, Top 10 includes Rostov Kremlin, Pskov Kremlin (Krom), Peterhof, Mamaev Kurgan and "The Motherland Calls" sculpture, Kizhi, The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, Lake Baikal and the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.
