The deputies of the Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Citizens’ Rights of Primorye Parliament examined the open letter of Honored Medical Doctor of Russia Anatoly Belyayev, who proposed to switch Vladivostok time zone from MSK +7 to MSK +6.
According to Anatoly Belyayev, adopting a new time zone will have a positive effect on children’s health and will benefit tourism and business as this will bring the Krai closer both to Moscow and to Asia. He added that in the future Primorsky Krai should be transferred to the Japan time zone, in other words to switch the local time to MSK +5. However, he urged not to do it right away since such abrupt transitions can be harmful for the human body.
Deputies decided to conduct a survey. Besides that, the Department of Economics of Primorsky Krai will estimate the economic aftermath of the transition.
