Smoking rooms will reappear in the sterile area of Sheremetyevo airport.
Sheremetyevo airport administration has obtained permission of Russian Health and Consumer Rights Agency to open smoking lounges.
Last summer, after the law on tobacco use came into force, the rooms were closed up. However, even then passengers did not stop smoking at the airport but began using restrooms as smoking places. Therefore, the administration asked Health and Consumer Rights Agency to reopen the smoking rooms in the sterile area. The Agency officials said that isolated smoking rooms could be opened again when all necessary equipment was installed. Other airports of the capital still did not succeed in getting permissions to bring rooms designed for smoke breaks back into operation.
