At the end of October the Perm ballet company, the MusicAeterna orchestra and opera soloists will go on a tour to Madrid.
Sergey Prokofiev’s ballet The Clown (choreography by Alexey Miroshnichenko) and Igor Stravinsky’s Svadebka aka The Wedding (choreography by Jerzy Kilian) — the Perm Theater’s unique projects nominated for the Gold Mask theatre award in 2012 - will be performed on stage of Teatro Real from October 24 to October 28.
The Perm troupe has got an opportunity to show up with a series of its performances on the leading national stage — Teatro Real in Madrid. The trip to Spain is a new touring direction for the Perm ballet.
“Most of the people outside of Russia still see the Russian ballet as The Swan Lake and The Nutcracker only. Practically all Russian theaters tour only with the classical repertoire. This trip to Madrid is a historical moment: we are going on a tour with our modern repertoire” - the choreographer and chief ballet master of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater Alexey Miroshnichenko emphasizes.
In addition to that, the orchestra MusicAeterna under conductorship by Theodor Kurentzis will record Svadebka (The Wedding) with the Sony Classical company. This record will be shortly released in one CD with another work by Igor Stravinsky — The Rite of Spring, which was recorded in Cologne from October 7 to October 10, right after performance of the Perm Orchestra at RurTriennale.
