Vyacheslav Polunin to Continue Churdaki Performance of 1981
Vyacheslav Polunin

Vyacheslav Polunin, the art director of the Circus in Fontanka, will present to public the second part of the Churdaki show at the Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg.

Visitors of the forum to be held from December 2 to December 4 will see continuation of the popular performance, which is 30 years old.

There will be new turns with participation of Slava Polunin himself, as well as Artem Zhimo (the leading actor in Polunin’s famous Snow Show), Tatyana Karamysheva, Nikolay Terentyev and Georgy Deliyev.

The first part of the Churdaki performance was presented to the audience in 1981 on stage of the Leningrad Youth Palace. The story is unfolding around four clowns, who have grown old, left circus arenas and lodged in an obsolete attic. As Vyacheslav Polunin points out, the theme is inspired “by numerous real life stories of great actors, who were relegated to oblivion as soon as the curtain went down behind them”.
