The monthly Internet audience in Russia has amounted to 66.1 million people this autumn, has claimed the Public Opinion Fund at the conference RIW 2013 (Russian Internet Week) in Moscow. 57% of the population of Russia aged over 18 uses the Internet every month.
The average daily rate of Runet has reached 52.2 million people, what makes up 45% of the Russian population, informs the Fund. The most part of the monthly audience, about 76%, lives in the cities with the population less than 1 million people. Such cities provide for the main growth of the Internet audience.
According to the Public Opinion Fund the level of the Internet penetration in the small towns is 45%, in the towns with the population of less than 100 thousand people is 58%, in the cities with the population from 100 thousand up to 1 million cities is 65%.
